3 Lesson Special for Winter Months!!! Contact Dave Pianki
Are you motivated to strike the ball better? Come in and learn a drill or two relevant to your needs and do some rep’s daily throughout the winter months. You really need to practice without the distraction of a ball or shot result. Do enough correct rep’s to train your brain/nervous system to take the new road without conscious thought. During the early stages of this process, hitting full shots at full speed will only tempt old swing patterns to resurface quickly.
Another suggestion for this winter. Get yourself an Orange Whip or facsimile there of and swing it every day. At the very least it will help increase your flexibility and strengthen golf specific muscles. Using it correctly will also teach you to correctly sequence your downswing and thus create more club speed. Start slowly with continuous swings, back and thru, back and thru. Feel the flexibility of the shaft and the resulting lag and whip you can create. Notice the swoosh sound it makes through the impact area. Listen to it! Gradually make the swoosh louder and louder while staying balanced and rhythmic. As your swing changes direction you will feel the pressure shift to your forward foot. This is your body responding perfectly to the swinging motion. The louder the swoosh, the more you will feel your body respond. In the words of the great instructor Manual de la Torre “if the body is allowed to be responsive, the movement of the body will be compatible and correct” Come spring your golf swing and your body will thank you for doing this.
